 Escape to the Highlands

 

 

Day 1 - Arrive Edinburgh
Arrive in Edinburgh, Scotland's majestic capital City. Enjoy a City Sightseeing Bus Tour, a visit to Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace and explore the many attractions of this beautiful city.
Overnight - Edinburgh

Day 2 - Edinburgh to Fort William
Travel north to Stirling and visit the medieval Castle. A wonderfully scenic journey takes you across the wilderness of Rannoch Moor and through spectacular Glencoe and into the heart of the Highlands. Your destination is Fort William located on the western sea-board and at the foot of Ben Nevis, the UK's highest mountain.

Day 3 - Fort William to the Isle of Skye
Travel on the magnificent Road to the Isles and then by ferry over the sea to the Isle of Skye. The short sailing across the Sound of Sleat provides great views of Skye and back across to the west coast.

Day 4 - Isle of Skye Sightseeing
A full day on Skye to visit romantic Dunvegan Castle, sample some fine Island whiskies, enjoy a great day's walking or climb aboard a fabulous cruise which will take you into the heart of the Cuillin Mountains.

Day 5 - Isle of Skye to Inverness
Depart Skye & travel past the most famous of Scotland's castles, Eilean Donan. Your route takes you by the shores of brooding Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle and onto Inverness - the Capital of the Highlands.

Day 6 - Inverness Sightseeing
A full day to explore Inverness, visit Cawdor with its 14th Century castle, Culloden Battefield where in 1746 the last battle took place on British soil, or travel into Speyside and tour the Malt Whisky Trail.
Overnight - Inverness area

Day 7 - Inverness to Highland Perthshire
Travel from the Highlands to the Lowlands with a drive through the heart of our country into beautiful Highland Perthshire. En-route visit the Cairngorms National Park, Blair Castle or Dalwhinnie Distillery.
Overnight - Pitlochry area

Day 8 - Depart Edinburgh
After breakfast it is less than a 2 hour journey to Edinburgh.
